Jun 09, 2026"We were very surprised at how good the food was! We had fish and chips and fish tacos, and both were great! The owner was a hoot, too. She was super sweet to us, but you could tell she could be a pistol when she wants. Definitely a must-visit if you’re hungry in Metaline."

May 07, 2026"My dreamy husband and I found this little gem of a restaurant on our way back from taking the Gardner caves tour. Carol is super friendly, and took a genuine interest in why we had kayaks in our truck if we hadn't been kayaking (a story for another day). Anyhoo We had cheeseburgers and fries. The beef patties were as thick as my finger, well seasoned and cooked through. It came with all the deluxe fixings and a heaping side of fries (hand cut for my dreamy husband because he says there's nothing better). He says it's THE BEST burger he's had in ages and, considering he's a chef, that's really saying something. It's a little out of the way, but we plan on making the Western Star Bar & Grill a regular stop when we're in northeast Washington."
